Public health and medical demographer with decades of senior experience across international development, government, and non-governmental health programmes.

Biography

Dr. Willie Makori O. Nyambati is a public health and medical demographer, a specialist in population and health issues, gender, and social dynamics. He holds a PhD and a Master's Degree in Demography focused on medical, social dynamics, and child survival, alongside extensive professional training across population management, programming, and operations.

He brings more than two decades of senior-level experience with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), where he served as Chief Administration Officer and earlier as Senior Program Advisor and Health Advisor, coordinating health, population, and AIDS programmes and donor partnerships. He has also worked with the Danish Embassy in Nairobi attached to DANIDA and the Kenya Ministry of Health's Health Sector Reforms Programme, as well as numerous Government of Kenya ministries and departments.

Dr. Nyambati holds directorships across a range of organisations including Doctor's Choice Ltd, and chairs several non-governmental organisations and school management boards. His expertise spans health and population management, programme design and evaluation, performance contracting, and research, built across donor, government, and NGO settings.
